We all knew we'd/they'd fail...but never quite so spectacularly. But why now, and why are the how's so painfully similar? A primer in generational flameouts.
Sorry if this is not the place for this, but I figured "ohhhhh what the hell. Why not?" What in the goddamn bejesus is that lead instrument/sound from the first Bunuel single y'all released, from this new yet-to-be released record?? I can't quite figure it out and it's bugging the goddamn bejesus out of me. Sometimes it sounds like a synth. Sometimes it sounds like a guitar. All of the times it sounds really, really fucking cool. That is song is dope!!
"Despite asking a room full of music fans, not one could think of any 20-something screw-ups....No. The names that came up, pre-punk rock, from Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, Jimmy Page to post-punk rock Rammstein, Marilyn Manson and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, all seem to point to men of a certain age…”fucking” up. But “fucking” up seems to adjudge that qualitatively there were BETTER ways to do something, a concept that makes me laugh."
-Aged celebrity brings more visibility and cameras. "'fucking' up" in this seems to be more about them getting "caught" and judged by the public?

Well, The WHY of it all starts to congeal around age though. Age, and intimations of mortality."
The first time I remember hearing that answer, which seems pretty accurate, was Olympia Dukakis in Moonstruck when she said, "I think it's because they fear death." I also liked a piece of relevant advice she offered, "Don't shit where you eat."
